I just finished reading, "The Only Resume and Cover Letter Book You'll Ever Need: 600 Resumes for All Industries 600 Cover Letters for Every Situation 150 Positions from Entry Level to CEO." As a professional career coach, I read as many career and related resume books that I can get my hands on. I must say that I was very disappointed in this book as I feel there was nothing very useful contained in it.
Yes, the title is true, there are 600 resume examples, but that is all that was in the book. There was nothing in the book about what makes a good resume or how to write a great resume yourself. It was just page after page of resumes. In my opinion, many of the resume samples were not even that good and most of them were outdated. The book also provides no resume examples In many important industries like federal jobs and green jobs, two of the hottest job markets today.
My major criticism is that the book does not provide any unique information. Everything in the book could be found by a simple search on the Internet for free. Additionally, how many people would really need examples for 600 professions? Most people would just need one or two pages of that book and the rest would not be relevant at all.
In closing, I was not impressed with this book at all and would not recommend this book, rather I would suggest saving your money and use the Internet to find the same information.
